The Sept. 1 issue contains a List of the largest homebuilders in the Tampa Bay area. The List is ranked by number of closings in Tampa Bay in 2016. Lennar Tampa took the top spot on the List with 2,580 local closings. The next-highest on the List was D.R. Horton at 1,550 and CalAtlantic Homes at 834. Tampa Bay Lightning general manager Steve Yzerman has sold his Davis Islands mansion — and another Bolt is moving in. Lightning defenseman Daniel Girardi and his wife, Pamela, paid $3 million for Yzerman's home at 44 Martinique Ave., according to a Hillsborough County deed filed Tuesday. A Lightning spokesman declined comment. Girardi signed a two-year, $6 million contract with the Lightning on July 1. The number of tony Tampa Bay neighborhoods has tripled in the last three years, according to Zillow. The Seattle real estate data firm released a new analysis that shows the number of new million-dollar neighborhoods in the U.S. Zillow defines a million-dollar neighborhood as ZIP codes where 10 percent of homes are worth at least $1 million.
