A San Diego firm has picked up a Tampa apartment property for more than $65 million. ConAm 2017 Multifamily Opportunity Fund paid $65.75 for Audubon Village, a 477-unit apartment development at 5830 Memorial Highway in the Rocky Point area. The purchase price breaks down to $137,840 per unit. The seller, Atlanta-based Cortland Partners, paid $41.9 million for the property in 2013, according to Hillsborough County property records. Silvestre Dangond, one of the most popular singers in Colombia, has listed his South Florida home for sale, and acquired a lot in the same area for a larger mansion. Affordable housing becoming less attainable in Tampa

Housing prices in Tampa are on the rise, and a new report from Metrostudy shows that affordable housing is becoming increasingly more difficult to attain. According to the report quarterly new home starts are up 5.3 percent year-over-year. Annual starts are up 6.8 percent, while new home activity is continuing to shift to higher price points as starts under $250,000 are down 8.9 percent from 3Q17 levels.
